Making Flowers:

Alongside using tins without the labels on as our vases/pots to display our flowers in, we had also collected egg cartons. After cutting off the lid we then mixed up a combination of black and brown paint, rubber shavings and PVA glue. As carefully as possible we spooned this into the carton spaces were the eggs would normally sit. Kerry made some little sprouting's with leaves and then together we made some smaller flowers, similar to pansies. To make them we needed two layers with 4 sets of petals, they needed a little blob of hot glue in the middle to created a pleat which made the flower a more interesting shape. For the middle it required folding a rectangular piece of felt and gluing the top. You can see this in one of the photo's below, using orange felt, after this you then created loads of little slits, this makes it look like mini loops. This length of loops can then be rolled round which makes it look like the centre of the flower.

I also wanted to experiment with making bigger flowers to create a range of different sizes amongst the shelves, I made these similarly to the smaller flowers regarding there stamen. However, I also experimented with painting some extra details on and using black acrylic paint I added some little streaks that came out from the centre gradually.
