Today as part of the design team we wrote out a list of exactly what we needed to have done for our presentation back to the director and producer tomorrow. I was given the task of contacting companies to try and get a black high gloss or black LED flooring for our set. I also emailed around about getting hold of a red carpet. As a group we agreed that it would be a good idea for us to try and get sponsors to help support our project and also ask the companies I was in contact with if they would consider giving us a discount or use there products free of charge in return for there products being used as a main feature of our set and also crediting them as part of the programme. I wanted to also try and get sponsors from popcorn companies and cinemas, to help increase our budget and also use there products as part of our set. I heard back from Harlequin flooring almost instantly with a quote, this was way out of our price range, but luckily they are putting me in contact with the department that deals with sponsors so hopefully we will have better luck with this. We also got a call from First light flooring who have suggest that we buy a role of Vinyl as flooring, they use this on top of there dance floors to achieve an extra shiny finish which is what we want. The gentlemen I spoke to also said that he would search his warehouse for offcuts we may be able to use. As a group we are going to go and visit the store and see everything in real life and speak to them more directly.
I also put together a power point for our presentation tomorrow, this included putting together a more finished version of a mood board with an updated colour scheme, making a new rough mock up of our new amended sizing for our panels and also adding in the design that Tinuke had put together. For the mood board we looked at Art deco in more detail, especially the patterns they use. And we loved the idea of using oranges, reds, purples and gold. We also looked at the Graham Norton show and the Big fat quiz of the year for inspiration in there set, as we loved there contemporary designs and extreme use of colour.
